Mkomazi National Park
Mkomazi National Park is 3200 square kilometers in size and lies in the north of Tanzania, close to Moshi and the border with Kenya. Together with Kenya's Tsavo National Park, it provides a base for migratory herds of elephants, oryx and zebras during the rainy season. Visitors cannot miss the Mbula Rhino Sanctuary where rhinos might come close to the car! During regular game drives, you usually encounter animals such as giraffes, antelopes, buffalos, lions, leopards and many more.
Activities:
The Mbula Rhino Sanctuary lies within the boundaries of Mkomazi National Park, where it is home to over 35 rhinos, and their numbers are growing. The rhinos were reintroduced to Mkomazi in the 1990s and visitors can enter the sanctuary in an open safari vehicle of the national park, together with a ranger. This ranger knows precisely where the rhinos are and will do his best to arrange an encounter. Don't be surprised if these majestic animals walk straight to your car!
